A renovated lower level is often a place to showcase hobbies and interests. This renovation of an existing finished basement had lots of interesting nooks and crannies to display the client’s interests that we highlighted with accent lighting. One area was ideal for a dartboard, while the banquette seating area was the perfect place to display a collection of signed musical instruments and music memorabilia. As lower levels typically contain mechanical systems, in order to keep the ceilings as high as possible, it was necessary to get creative in hiding mechanical, heating, and AC ducts. This often necessitates building a dedicated room that is creatively integrated into the rest of the space, which we were able to do seamlessly in this home.
