Special Spaces
Relaxing Close to Home
We build a wide range of projects, from entire home renovations to one room, with the equal goal of providing happiness and enjoyment to our clients whether their new space is large or small. This client came to us with a desire to have an outdoor “room” that felt connected to the interior of their home. In a historic Bucks County borough, it’s important to capture the essence of the neighborhood and surrounding community, while respecting the way homes of the time were built. Not every project lends itself to modern materials and with a house constructed entirely of wood, it’s only natural to continue the design of the outdoor space with similar materials. We built a deck and intimate outdoor entertaining area for gathering with family and friends at this turn of the century cedar shake home. By designing the deck close to the ground, a railing wasn’t needed so the openness of the deck creates a tiered setting, enveloped by the surrounding gardens and existing footprint of the home. With strategically placed doors and windows, the outdoor living space communicates well with its complementary interior, creating an inviting presence overall.
