This lower level was all about creating an environment. The motif of a casual rustic look was the ideal fit for the client’s love of relaxing in a comfortable space, from the lounging area to the game room, to the full downstairs bath. It’s rare to have a tall ceiling in a lower level, and by creatively hiding the steel beams and columns with wood and stonework, we were able to give the space a warm airy presence, creating an upper level feel in a lower level space. With our client’s passion for wine collecting, the climate-controlled wine cellar is the centerpiece of the entire space, including dark rich wood, a travertine floor, and a mosaic graphic providing the focal point upon entry.
