Kitchens
More Than Meets the Eye
Every now and then a project presents unusual challenges. This one in particular was about how to get more space in a kitchen without putting on an addition. The solution? Work within. By relocating the powder room and reconfiguring the laundry room, we were able to open up the kitchen to engage with the family room. Another key factor was removing the original split staircase, which was taking up too much real estate. All of this allowed for a more connected space, while not sacrificing the dining room or living room. The kitchen is well balanced by the white subway tile and bright cabinetry combined with the dark floor that provides grounding to the whole area.
